I was inspired to make this chastity belt after hearing of far-right, US provocateur, Nick Fuentes’ tweet, “Your body, my choice” about abortion. I wanted to make something that represented body autonomy - in this modern iteration, the wearer has the key to the belt. The brutal, armour-like aesthetics of the piece represent the measures to which women must go to retain power over their own bodies.
Hand made, mild steel belt with hinges, padlock and key.
